Need a Visa

Submission of Visa Applications

Please refer to IRCC website to learn about a temporary resident visa (visitor visa) and the process to apply for one.

Please note that visa applications are considered on a case-by-case basis based on the information presented by the applicant. The onus is on the applicant to show that they meet the requirements for a temporary resident visa. The applicant must meet all the eligibility criteria in order to receive a visa.

In addition to the application, you will also need to provide supporting documents such as a valid passport, proof of financial support, and additional documents specific to the type of visa you are applying for.

Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA)

Since November 10, 2016, visa-exempt foreign nationals must have an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) to fly to or transit through Canada. Exceptions include U.S. citizens, and Canadian citizens, including dual citizens, and Canadian permanent residents.

Canada Arrival Essentials

Smooth Entry: Your Canadian Welcome Guide

Arriving in Canada

As you prepare for your journey, here is important information about arriving in Canada, meeting Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) officers, and transportation options to the Fredericton Convention Centre.

When you arrive in Canada, you’ll go through immigration and customs clearance conducted by CBSA officers. Here is what to expect:

  1. Immigration Clearance: Upon arrival, proceed to the immigration area where you’ll be greeted by CBSA officers. Have your passport, visa (if applicable), and any supporting documents ready for inspection.
  2. Customs Clearance: After immigration, you will proceed to the customs area where you’ll declare any goods you’re bringing into Canada. Familiarize yourself with Canada’s customs regulations to ensure compliance.
  3. Security Screening: Be prepared to undergo security screening, which may include questions about the purpose of your visit, your accommodation arrangements, and your return travel plans.

How can you get an Invitation Letter for Visa Application?

For all attendees needing a Visa to travel to Canada, we will provide an invitation letter. To receive your Invitation letter, you must register and fill the required information. After receiving the full payment of your registration, we will forward you a copy of the letter, including the special event code you will need to apply.

  • This letter will not automatically grant you a Visa.
  • This letter will only help to facilitate the application process.
  • Your application will need to go through the same scrutiny as any application.

Processing times for Special Events usually take between 30 to 60 days. Please submit your application for Visa as well as your request for biometrics as quickly as possible. As soon as you receive your application number, please email it back to us at registration@thriveglobalforum.com. This will allow us to submit a valid attendees list to the immigration services to help them find our guests’ names. This is not an automatic acceptance. You are responsible for submitting all the proper documentation for analysis. This process will help to accelerate the process.
